POSITION OVERVIEW

Life Skills Coach

The Life Skills Coach position is a key role in which staff train students to live more independently. You will work in a college residential setting after classes and on weekends to teach real‑life skills and promote a fun college experience for the students.

Options for full‑time hours, part‑time hours, weekend‑only, or coverage‑only. There is plenty of flexibility to find a schedule that works with your other life commitments. Work 1‑5 shifts per week or just cover open shifts as needed.

This is a 2nd‑shift and weekends position. A full‑time schedule includes four 6‑hour weekdays shifts and one 14‑hour weekend shift (with 1‑hour paid break).

SCHEDULE OPTIONS
  • Weekdays: 2:50 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Weekends: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM | 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support students with IDD in a college residential setting at an 8:1 student‑to‑staff ratio.
  • Train students in cooking, cleaning, safety, time management, and social behavior to promote independent living.
  • Build positive working relationships with students to foster growth and development.
  • Complete communication and documentation to promote effective team collaboration.
  • Take students on off‑campus activities to provide a great college experience.
