Overnight Substance Abuse

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks an Overnight Substance Abuse Support staff member to provide safety, structure, and encouragement for adults in recovery within a residential setting. Working awake overnight, you will monitor client well-being, conduct safety and room checks, respond to crises, and reinforce a sober, respectful environment using trauma-informed practices. You'll document observations, support medication procedures, and collaborate with clinical and case management staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support to residents in substance use recovery housing
• Monitor client safety, conduct room checks, and respond to crises per program protocols
• Offer supportive listening, encouragement, and de-escalation using trauma-informed practices
• Document client interactions, incidents, and overnight observations accurately and timely
• Administer or monitor medication per agency policy and maintain secure medication storage
• Enforce house rules, curfews, and sobriety expectations with consistency and respect
• Communicate shifts reports and client concerns to case managers and clinical staff
• Assist with basic living needs, including snacks, light housekeeping, and facility upkeep
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support individual service and safety plans
• Participate in required trainings, meetings, and ongoing professional development
