Location: Neillsville
Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks an Overnight Substance Abuse Support staff member to provide safety, structure, and encouragement for adults in recovery within a residential setting. Working awake overnight, you will monitor client well-being, conduct safety and room checks, respond to crises, and reinforce a sober, respectful environment using trauma-informed practices. You'll document observations, support medication procedures, and collaborate with clinical and case management staff.
This role is ideal for compassionate, reliable individuals committed to recovery-focused, faith-inspired, and inclusive care.
Responsibilities
- Provide overnight supervision and support to residents in substance use recovery housing
- Monitor client safety, conduct room checks, and respond to crises per program protocols
- Offer supportive listening, encouragement, and de-escalation using trauma-informed practices
- Document client interactions, incidents, and overnight observations accurately and timely
- Administer or monitor medication per agency policy and maintain secure medication storage
- Enforce house rules, curfews, and sobriety expectations with consistency and respect
- Communicate shifts reports and client concerns to case managers and clinical staff
- Assist with basic living needs, including snacks, light housekeeping, and facility upkeep
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support individual service and safety plans
- Participate in required trainings, meetings, and ongoing professional development
