Position: Overnight Substance Abuse Support
Location: Fairchild

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks an Overnight Substance Abuse Support professional to ensure safety and stability in a residential recovery setting. In this role, you will monitor clients overnight, conduct wellness and safety checks, support adherence to treatment and house rules, and respond calmly to crises using trauma-informed practices. You'll document observations, collaborate with clinical staff, and provide compassionate, recovery-focused support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight supervision and support to residents in substance abuse recovery programs
  • Monitor client safety, conduct wellness and room checks, and respond to crises following agency protocols
  • Document observations, incidents, and client interactions accurately in electronic records
  • Administer or monitor prescribed medications per program policy and report concerns to supervisors
  • Support clients in following house rules, curfews, and relapse-prevention plans
  • De-escalate behavioral situations using trauma-informed and motivational approaches
  • Collaborate with clinical staff on client needs, communicating changes in behavior or risk
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure environment during overnight shifts
  • Assist with intakes, discharges, and transitions between levels of care as needed
  • Participate in required trainings on addiction, mental health, and safety procedures
