Location: Granton
Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks an Overnight Substance Abuse Support professional to provide safety, structure, and encouragement to adults in a residential recovery setting. Working awake overnight, you will monitor client well-being, perform regular safety checks, respond to crises, and document observations using trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices. You'll collaborate with daytime clinical staff, uphold house guidelines, and maintain a calm, respectful environment that reflects LSS's faith-inspired, inclusive, and client-focused mission while supporting individuals on their path to stability and sobriety.
Responsibilities
- Provide overnight monitoring and support to clients in a residential substance abuse program
- Ensure client safety, conduct regular checks, and respond to crises or emergencies following protocol
- Document client behaviors, incidents, and overnight observations in accordance with agency standards
- Administer or monitor prescribed medications per policy (if credentialed/allowed) and report concerns
- Facilitate a calm, supportive, and trauma-informed environment aligned with recovery goals
- Communicate shift updates and client concerns to daytime clinical and case management staff
- Enforce house rules, complete room and facility checks, and maintain confidentiality
- Assist clients with basic needs, de-escalation, and access to resources during overnight hours
- Participate in required trainings, team meetings, and supervision to support best practices
- Model professional boundaries, empathy, and respect consistent with LSS mission and values
