Process Engineer
A great Robert Half client is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, refine, and optimize machining processes for precision aerospace components. This role will focus on process improvement efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and supporting new product introductions in a high-tolerance environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding) for aerospace components
- Select tooling, cutting parameters, and work holding solutions for tight-tolerance parts
- Create and maintain process documentation and standardized work instructions
- Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype through full production
- Conduct root cause analysis for dimensional, surface finish, and quality issues
- Improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and increase overall machine utilization
- Perform capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and apply statistical process control (SPC) methods
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards
- Collaborate with programming, quality, and production teams
- Assist with capital equipment selection, implementation, and machine validation
