Role summary / purpose
The HR Generalist - Talent Acquisition & Facilities plays a critical role in supporting continued growth by leading full-cycle recruiting efforts while serving as the primary Human Resources contact for the Wixom facility. This position is responsible for attracting, interviewing, and hiring top talent across manufacturing, engineering, corporate, and technical functions. In addition, the role oversees facility-related administrative functions to ensure a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing recruiting, employee support, and facility operations.
Key responsibilities
Talent Acquisition (Approximately 70%)
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies.
- Source candidates through job boards, Linked In, employee referrals, networking, and community partnerships.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, coordinate interview schedules, and facilitate hiring decisions.
- Extend employment offers and negotiate compensation within company guidelines.
- Maintain recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, candidate pipeline, and hiring effectiveness.
- Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate onboarding activities including orientation, new hire paperwork, and first-day logistics.
- Attend hiring events, job fairs, and community recruiting initiatives.
- Build talent pipelines for recurring manufacturing and technical positions.
- Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure recruiting compliance.
Human Resources Generalist (Approximately 20%)
- Serve as the HR representative for the Wixom location.
- Assist employees and managers with HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
- Support performance management, employee engagement, and recognition programs.
- Assist with investigations and documentation as needed.
- Support benefits enrollment and employee questions.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation.
- Assist with HR initiatives, training, and compliance programs.
- Promote a positive employee culture aligned with company values.
Facilities Management (Approximately 10%)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for building vendors and service providers.
- Coordinate facility maintenance requests and building repairs.
- Manage office supply inventory and workplace equipment.
- Assist with workspace planning, office moves, and conference room coordination.
- Coordinate safety inspections and facility-related compliance activities.
- Support company events and onsite employee activities.
- Ensure common areas remain professional, organized, and operational.
Requirements - education & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
- Experience recruiting manufacturing, engineering, technical, or corporate positions.
Required skills
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
