Operations Engineer
This position will require experience in integrating and installing Augmented Reality systems at various customer sites. As an Operations Engineer, the holder of this position is expected to work independently integrating system components at the Light Guide, Inc. facility as well as installing and authoring comprehensive programs, while coordinating all resources for a successful implementation. This position will be based in the SE Michigan Area and will require domestic and international travel.
Ensuring specialized mechanical and electronic systems are properly integrated and installed, thoroughly tested in-house and fully integrated including customer training at facilities
Integrate, install, and troubleshoot Light Guide systems, including but not limited to:
Computers and all internal components
Graphics (i.e., Projectors, Monitors, CPU Hardware)
Projectors
3D Vision
Other Computer Peripherals and (Nondescript) Hardware
Following up and independently working through subtle issues for system success
Sending daily status reports during integrations and installations activities/projects
Work independently, with minimal direct supervision, to perform following activities, but not limited to:
Coordinating Integrations, Installations, Programming, and Troubleshooting
Working at customer facilities
Perform in-depth troubleshooting and investigate root cause of issues to handle client inquiries via our main support channels
Manage and solve assigned cases by providing the best support solution. Reference technical documentation and aid in building internal knowledge base content where gaps may be present
Train users, customers, and partners to use the Light Guide system effectively and efficiently
Work closely with business, engineering, and operations teams to ensure transparent communication and efficient issue resolution (i.e., Task management systems, Excel sheets, Shipping/Receiving Logs, Checklists etc.)
Ensuring only qualified systems ship
General Building Maintenance
Able to design and build structures
Be able to independently coordinate resources at the customer level. Will oversee their jobs and installs
Strong PC skills with some Audio-Visual Multimedia (AVMM) and Program Logic Controller (PLC) Experience
Work independently or as a member of a distributed team
Work independently at customer sites and interact with customers at different levels
Coordinate activities while on-site, creating individual and teamwork schedules
Verbal and written communication skills
Physically and mentally able to install equipment:
In-house and/or at customer locations
Must be able to use power tools, ladders, boom lifts, forklifts, other electrical and controls equipment
Project Management is a highly recommended skill
Troubleshoot all Tier I & II and repair all LGS System deficiencies
Customer Service/Management experience required. You will interact with customers
Proven Safety Record
Ability to pass a drug screen
Vocational experience, Certification in a technical field, or Associate Degree in Business Science
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or business science is a plus

Be able to work on a flexible schedule, when necessary, with potential to flex hours to accommodate customer requirements. Occasional requirement to work late or during a weekend to accommodate a customer schedule or time zone. Ability to pass a drug screen may be required when applicable.
Most work will be in the US; some overseas travel will be required. Must be willing to travel up to 80% of the time.
