Manufacturing Supervisor (2nd Shift)

The Manufacturing Supervisor leads daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role directs and develops production employees, manages labor and machine capacity, supports schedule adherence, removes production constraints, and drives continuous improvement across assigned manufacturing areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Production Management — Manage labor, machines, tooling, and workflow to meet throughput, cost, quality, and schedule expectations.
- Work Assignment — Organize and assign work based on employee skills, experience, production priorities, and manufacturing strategies.
- Daily Operations Oversight — Monitor production progress, resolve constraints, and communicate schedule, quality, material, staffing, and equipment issues to the Plant Manager and supporting departments.
- Documentation & Reporting — Maintain accountability for production documentation, labor reporting, booking accuracy, and department performance metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with Maintenance, Tooling, Quality, Planning, Engineering, and other teams to resolve issues affecting safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
- Compliance & Standards — Ensure employees follow approved work instructions, quality standards, safety rules, and company policies.
- Employee Development — Provide coaching, training, onboarding, cross-training, performance feedback, and accountability for production employees.
- Continuous Improvement — Lead and support 5S, TPM, Kaizen, waste reduction, setup improvement, and productivity initiatives.
- Scrap & Rework Reduction — Support MRB reduction by identifying root causes, escalating recurring issues, and participating in corrective actions.
- Safety & Workplace Organization — Maintain a safe, clean, organized manufacturing environment and promote employee wellbeing and accident prevention.
- Shift & Department Communication — Communicate effectively across shifts and departments to ensure continuity of priorities, staffing, production status, and issue resolution.
Directly supervises assigned manufacturing employees and performs all supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including planning and directing work; training employees; evaluating performance; addressing attendance and conduct issues; resolving problems; and supporting a respectful, team-oriented work environment.

- ERP Proficiency — Working knowledge of ERP systems;

Education & ExperienceMinimum of five years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility required. Aerospace, precision machining, CNC machining, quality system, and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, operation sheets, quality requirements, safety rules, production schedules, and business communications. Ability to prepare production updates, shift notes, reports, and employee communications. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, customers, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
