Job Summary
Field Service Technician II installs, troubleshoots, and maintains Nordson IC'S equipment, including liquid, container, and cold materials systems at customer sites. This role operates with moderate independence, handling standard installations and service issues while supporting more complex projects. The position also provides basic training to customers and internal personnel and contributes to maintaining strong customer relationships.
EssentialJob Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform installation and on-site support for standard equipment and system implementations.
- Partner with project managers and senior technicians to execute installation activities.
- Act as a site lead for smaller or less complex installations, ensuring safe and effective execution.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues of moderate complexity.
- Replace parts and components; escape complex or recurring issues as appropriate.
- Provide service and preventative maintenance support to existing customers.
- Apply working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC systems to resolve issues.
- Conduct system audits and document maintenance procedures, parameter settings, and service activities.
- Deliver training to customers and local personnel on standard operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Nordson procedures and safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying common service issues and recommending solutions.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reports.
- Assist in the development and refinement of training materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or two-year technical certificate, or 2‑4 years’ experience in lieu of degree/certificate.
- 3–5 years of relevant industrial service, maintenance, or installation experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electro‑mechanical systems required.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting skills required.
- Exposure to robotics or automation systems preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with ability to diagnose moderately complex issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers professionally.
- Ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaboratively on larger projects.
- Organized and detail‑oriented with solid documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt in a technical environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional international travel.
