Electrical Technician position is available in the Wixom, Michigan area working at our client location.
The company is known for it’s commitment to quality and innovation. Seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join their growing team. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity or possible direct hire opportunity. Pay range is $25.00 to $28.00 an hour depending on experience. Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Electrical Technician is responsible for wiring, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning low- and high-voltage load bank systems and related equipment. This role supports manufacturing, service, and field operations through electrical/mechanical assembly, panel wiring, PLC/HMI verification, diagnostics, repair, and customer support. Technicians are expected to perform work safely, accurately, and in compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Electrical Assembly & Wiring- Assemble and install electrical and mechanical components including panels, breakers, relays, transformers, motors, sensors, and control devices
- Route, terminate, and label power and control wiring according to schematics and workmanship standards
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
- Verify grounding, bonding, wire sizing, and proper separation of power and control wiring
- Perform continuity checks, operational verification, and functional testing
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using meters and diagnostic equipment
- Repair or replace defective components and retest equipment
- Validate alarms, shutdowns, load steps, and control system performance
- Support QA inspections, final testing, and corrective actions
- Assist with PLC/HMI software loading, verification, and troubleshooting
- Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, repairs, and service support (10–15%) once hired in direct
- Provide customer training and technical support as needed
- Maintain accurate testing, service, and documentation records
- Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and electrical safety procedures
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and engineering requirements

Required Qualifications- Experience with electrical assembly, panel wiring, troubleshooting, and repair
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Experience with cable routing, terminations, labeling, and electrical testing equipment
- Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems and industrial controls preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills
