Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Woburn, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to core accounting operations, including general ledger management, inventory accounting, and month-end close processes. The role requires a proactive individual eager to expand their expertise in areas such as cost accounting and variance analysis.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee day-to-day general ledger operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly close processes.

- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules, including calculations for depreciation.

- Manage prepaid expense schedules and ensure proper documentation.

- Handle intercompany transactions and perform reconciliations.

- Prepare detailed schedules and documentation related to inventory accounting.

- Assist in inventory accounting activities, including standard costing and variance analysis.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

- Collaborate with the Controller on ad hoc financial analyses and accounting projects.

- Support manufacturing cost accounting processes and related reporting. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

- Strong background in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.

- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.

- Experience with inventory or cost accounting is preferred but not mandatory.

- Willingness to learn and apply concepts related to standard costing and variance analysis.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Proactive and motivated approach to working in a dynamic environment.

- Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Oracle Cloud, is a plus.
