PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
The Property Accountant is a key member of the Accounting Team in our corporate office in Woburn, MA. The Property Accountant will be primarily responsible for all duties related to producing monthly financial reports for managed properties. This individual focuses on journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation and accounts receivable.
The standard working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., based on‑site at our office.
As the Property Accountant your job functions include:- Preparing and analyzing monthly financials for assigned properties
- Preparing year‑end audit packages
- Reconciling and analyzing escrow accounts
- Reconciling monthly bank statements
- Ensuring timely payment of loans, real estate tax bills, and insurance bills
- Monitoring and managing cash balances on assigned properties
- Conducting annual internal property audits
- Collaborating with departments for problem resolutions
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university is required
- 1‑2 years of experience in a related field or internship preferred
- Industry knowledge of software systems such as MRI is a plus
- General ledger and cash receipts experience preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
