Section Leader, Principal Systems Engineer – SETC Long Range Radars (LRR)
Location:
Woburn, MA or Tewksbury, MA; onsite.
U.S. citizenship required. Existing or active U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date. Current clearance status: active and existing security clearance required on day 1.
Salary Range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
What You Will Do- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and career development support for section members.
- Conduct regular performance discussions, including goal-setting and feedback.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention activities.
- Foster a supportive, collaborative environment that promotes growth and engagement.
- Partner with program and functional leadership to understand workforce needs and resolve staffing challenges.
- Champion continuous improvement in engineering practices, workflow, and team culture.
- Manage administrative responsibilities such as timekeeping, training compliance, and salary planning.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with defensive radar systems and/or Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence systems.
- Experience leading technical teams.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing early-career engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative, supportive team environments.
- Prior involvement in staffing, workforce planning, or talent assessment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and balance program responsibilities with functional duties.
- Familiarity with performance management processes and goal-setting frameworks.
- Experience working across multiple programs or business areas.
- Interest in shaping team culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to influence without direct authority and work effectively with various stakeholders.
