About the Role

The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs across plumbing and HVAC construction projects. This role works closely with project teams and field leadership to ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of safety culture. The Safety Coordinator helps identify risks, conducts site inspections, and maintains documentation to support safe and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Site Safety Monitoring & Inspections
  • Conduct routine site safety observations, audits, and walkthroughs to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Verify proper use of PPE, fall protection, ladders, equipment, and other required safety controls.
  • Support field leadership in maintaining safe work areas, housekeeping, and hazard?mitigation practices.
  • Document safety findings, track corrective actions, and follow up to ensure closure.
Safety Documentation & Compliance
  • Assist with developing and maintaining Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), site?specific safety plans, and daily permits.
  • Support compliance with OSHA standards and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain safety logs, inspection records, training documentation, and required regulatory paperwork.
  • Coordinate with GCs, owners, and other contractors on safety submittals and reporting requirements.
Training & Communication
  • Help facilitate employee safety orientations and toolbox talks with field teams.
  • Support communication of safety alerts, updates, and best?practice guidance.
  • Encourage field engagement and participation in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Provide coaching to employees to reinforce safe work behavior and adherence to procedures.
  • Assist with documenting incidents, near?misses, and corrective actions.
  • Support root?cause analysis and help track implementation of recommended improvements.
  • Participate in follow?up evaluations to confirm effectiveness of corrective measures.
General Field & Project Support
  • Attend project startup meetings to review safety considerations and upcoming hazards.
  • Assist in coordinating required permits, fire watches, hot work activities, and emergency response materials.
  • Work with PMs and field supervisors to plan safe logistics, sequencing, and jobsite access.
Experience & Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction safety preferred, ideally within mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or general contracting environments.
  • OSHA?10 or OSHA?30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Understanding of basic construction safety practices, regulations, and terminology.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and collaborate with field teams.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities across different job sites.
  • Valid driver’s license required for jobsite travel.
