Fire Alarm Estimator
Our client is a fire protection contractor with more than 30 locations across the East Coast and Midwest, backed by a publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar corporation in the fire life safety industry. Their Woburn, MA fire alarm department is adding an Estimator due to continued growth.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, standard business hours, primarily office-based with occasional job site visits. Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000 per year.
1 to 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate fire alarm and construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, and Microsoft Office Ability to complete all phases of quantity survey work and pricing accurately under deadline Strong mathematical and analytical skills High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred QualificationsAssociate's Degree in a construction, engineering, or technical field Prior experience estimating fire alarm or low-voltage systems specifically Familiarity with fire protection codes and standards Experience coordinating with subcontractors and vendors on bid development
What You'll DoYou will prepare estimates and bid proposals for fire alarm construction projects by reviewing drawings, plans, and specifications from start to finish. Your work begins with a thorough evaluation of construction documents and continues through job site walk-throughs, where you assess conditions and identify factors that affect cost. You will conduct complete quantity surveys and translate those findings into competitive, accurate pricing.
Beyond the numbers, you will develop and carry out sales strategies in coordination with internal departments, and communicate regularly with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure bids reflect current market conditions. You will represent our client professionally in all interactions and contribute to a culture of safety by following established department policies and procedures.
