Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 (200 days)

Department: Unit B, Bargaining Unit

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

Vision for the Position:

The Coordinator of Instructional Technology will establish, articulate, and champion a transformative vision for PK–12 digital learning across Woburn Public Schools. Serving as a key strategic partner and connector, the Coordinator continuously assesses district-wide needs, evaluates emerging tools, and ensures all digital learning platforms align with strict accessibility and privacy standards. At the heart of this role is building capacity through hands‑on coaching and collaboration, empowering educators, administrators, and staff to effectively integrate technology, elevate classroom practices, and enhance the learning experience for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction regarding the evolving role of artificial intelligence in the educational and professional experiences of staff and students across WPS.
  • Partner with Central Office to establish, refine, and champion the district-wide vision for educational technology and digital learning.
  • Design and deliver job‑embedded professional development tailored for all stakeholders, including leadership teams, educators, and support staff, to build digital fluency, administrative capacity, and classroom integration.
  • Support the research, development, and implementation of district policies governing digital learning, acceptable use, data privacy, and instructional technology.
  • Oversee elementary digital literacy initiatives while partnering with secondary coordinators to align digital learning and computer competencies across PK–12.
  • Supervise and evaluate school librarians, providing guidance to optimize library media services, resource integration, and information literacy instruction across the district.
Instructional Support & Coaching
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and curriculum staff to design, integrate, and refine technology‑rich instructional units and lesson plans.
  • Guide educators in adopting effective blended learning models, digital resources, and interactive learning tools.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging educational tools and AI‑enhanced academic technologies to support curriculum goals and student engagement.
Professional Development & Content Creation
  • Design and deliver ongoing professional development workshops, instructional guides, multimedia resources, and training documentation for faculty and staff.
  • Support faculty in maximizing the use of district Learning Management Systems (LMS), and complementary academic software.
  • Support faculty in maximizing the use of Google Classroom and integrated Google Workspace tools to enhance instructional delivery, streamline workflow, and optimize student learning.
  • Ensure all instructional technology outputs, course content, and digital materials align with digital accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA.
Systems, Operations & Collaboration
  • Provide operational support for the district's portfolio of instructional apps, learning software, and student‑facing platforms.
  • Serve as a strategic bridge between curriculum and technology, partnering with instructional leaders to align digital tools with teaching standards while collaborating with the district IT team to ensure functionality, privacy compliance, and smooth software deployment across all schools.
  • Participate in district‑level planning to align technology adoption directly with strategic academic goals and state standards.
