** Senior Engineering Technician – Pyrometry, Heat Treat and Braze

BOYD (Woburn) is a market leader and manufacturer of high-performance cooling systems for use in high technology markets such as laser, X-ray, MRI, data centers, traction, and semiconductor manufacturing and test equipment.  No one has a broader range of thermal management  this position you will:

Support Engineering Activities
* Perform monthly calibrations on furnace controllers and Temperature Uniformity Surveys with minimal supervision.
* Collecting and analyzing process data from vacuum brazing, heat treating, and aging furnaces.
* Collaborate with engineering on brazing and heat treatment continuous improvement.
* Writing procedures and reports with engineering supervision.
* Design, build and assemble fixtures (for core stacking, vacuum brazing, pressure testing, etc.).
* Fabricate special tooling as required.
* Provide support to the factory.

General Requirements
* Proficient in the use of standard hand tools and measuring equipment.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Capable of assembling process fixturing.
* Ability to use a personal computer (MS Word & Excel, data logging, etc.)
* 5-10 years of pyrometry/heat treatment/brazing experience

Maintain Laboratory Equipment and Instrumentation
* Calibrate temperature controllers, thermocouples, etc.
* Acquisition and/or replacement of instrumentation with engineering supervision.

Educational Requirements
* High school diploma, Associates degree in Engineering, or an equivalent number of years of related job experience.
