Building Automation Software Engineer (BAS/DDC Programmer)

$100,000–$135,000+ per year, commensurate with experience and platform proficiency

Engineering Manager
We are seeking an experienced Building Automation Software Engineer to develop and support DDC controls, HVAC automation, and integrated building systems across commercial and institutional projects in the Boston metro area. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented BAS professional who excels in programming, systems integration, and technical collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Develop project‑specific BAS software, graphics, and control logic
- Interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings to implement sequences of operation
- Program, test, and deploy HVAC control systems using BACnet, Modbus, and open protocols
- Coordinate vendor integrations and support system interoperability
- Assist commissioning teams during startup, testing, and project turnover
- Maintain and improve standardized software libraries
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to service teams
- 5+ years of BAS/DDC programming experience
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control sequences, and building automation networks
- Experience with Schneider Eco Struxure highly preferred;
Niagara, ALC, Siemens, or JCI experience also considered - Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, or similar tools
- Familiarity with construction methods and field coordination
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
