Systems Engineer, Software Engineer

Woburn, MA. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance (interim clearance required prior to start).
Systems Engineer II in the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center, supporting the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department.
What You Will Do- Define radar system requirements, design architectures, and algorithms.
- Collaborate with software teams to ensure correct implementation of requirements.
- Analyze radar performance data against requirements, identify deficiencies, and propose solutions.
- Prototype new algorithms to enhance system performance.
- Present plans, designs, and performance to peers, internal leadership, and external customers.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise to agile development teams.
Contribute to one or more capability areas, including:
- Electronic Protection, signal processing, and applied mathematics.
- Hypersonic threat defense.
- Tracking, discrimination, search, and battle manager interfaces.
- Radar calibration, diagnostics, and deployed site support.
- Modeling and simulation of tactical software.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS.
- Experience with systems analysis, algorithms, requirements development, and/or signal processing techniques.
- Experience with Battle Management, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I) systems, radar systems, or signal processing.
- Experience developing, documenting, and maintaining processes, methods and tools.
- Ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
- Analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Experience with system‑level requirements development, documentation, and maintenance.
- Experience with radar system concepts: detection, discrimination, track, and signal processing algorithms.
- Experience coding system models, algorithms, test vectors, and analysis tools.
- Interest in Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements.
- Experience using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design.
- Previous military service.
- Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs.
- Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
