• Develop and implement one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
• Perform MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer’s approved equivalent.
• Coordinate with customer safety representatives and apply methods, standards, and techniques to clarify system requirements for software, hardware, and test personnel.
• Ensure design and architecture considerations are allocated to the system and integrated across development teams.
• Gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities.
• Collaborate across all integrated product teams to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Work with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal.
• Perform system safety planning, hazard analyses, and design analyses.
• Brief safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process.
• Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
• Prepare internal and customer reports describing various system safety analyses.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines to understand product architecture and design.
• Interface with engineering functions:
  Systems Engineering, Software/Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering.
• Manage System Safety Working Groups between key Raytheon and customer representatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts in MIL-STD 882E.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.
• Experience developing and implementing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, including management, analysis, evaluation, and verification.
• Experience with DoD System Safety Programs (e.g., MIL-STD-882/DO-178).
• Experience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerations.
• Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines and interfacing with engineering functions.
• Experience managing working groups.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

• Salary Range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
