Job Summary

Hands‑on electrical engineer responsible for designing electrical and control panels used in liquid cooling system products with both high and low voltages. Works with a small team of mechanical, refrigeration, and manufacturing engineers to bring the new product through its full product development process, from early concepts to production support. Responsible for electrical component selection, schematic and wire‑run list creation, control solutions (functional control logic and PID control loops for temperature, flow and pressure), and PCBA/PLC control firmware.

May develop firmware directly or work with a separate software engineer. Works with the full engineering team for testing and debugging, ensuring product’s electrical hardware and firmware meet functional and performance requirements while delivering on schedule and on budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control system design & integration: develop control system architectures; design and implement control algorithms to dynamically adjust cooling capacity based on real‑time data (temperature, humidity, load); integrate sensors, controllers, and actuators to monitor and control cooling systems; create and update electrical schematics and control diagrams for cooling systems.
  • Programming & commissioning: program and configure controllers; develop HMI interfaces tailored to system cooling operations; commission, test, and validate control systems; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Collaboration & project management: work closely with teams to ensure cooling solutions meet performance requirements; participate in cross‑functional design reviews; assist in planning, scheduling, and budgeting for data center cooling projects and retrofits.
  • Documentation: develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for control system designs and programming changes; provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production cooling systems; develop and execute verification test plans.
  • Compliance & safety: ensure all cooling control systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., UL/CE).
Qualifications
  • Education:

    bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in HVAC or refrigeration are a plus.
  • Experience:

    5+ years designing, programming, and maintaining control systems; 3+ years hands‑on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and integration of sensor networks; experience with communication protocols such as RS‑232, RS‑485, Ethernet, SNMP, REST API, etc.
  • Skills & competencies: strong understanding of control systems, automation, and cooling fundamentals (thermal management, airflow, load balancing); proficient in creating and interpreting electrical schematics and control logic diagrams; excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills; effective communication skills across multidisciplinary teams; knowledge of engineering tools—PLM, MRP (Oracle Cloud a plus); knowledgeable in mixed‑signal oscilloscopes, DVMs, etc.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work on‑site and travel as needed for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cooling and automation technologies.
  • Travel: limited—typically less than 5% of time per year. Domestic and international travel possible.
