Covaris, a Perkin Elmer company, employs a Project Manager to lead complex hardware/software development projects in the life sciences industry. The role focuses on project planning, execution, risk management, budget oversight, stakeholder communication, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans outlining scope, timeline, milestones, and resources.
- Execute projects according to plan, ensuring quality standards and deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and Sales—to align project goals.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to keep projects on track.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures, provide regular financial updates, and recommend cost optimizations.
- Communicate project progress, updates, and challenges to stakeholders; conduct regular status meetings.
- Create comprehensive weekly/monthly reports on project status for leadership.
All other job‑related duties as requested by the supervisor.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific field with 5+ years post‑college experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a technical Project Manager leading integrated hardware/software (preferably instrument) development projects and managing cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with PMBOK; PMP certification preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO
13485 and medical device development & certification (plus). - Strong understanding of biochemical and mechanical engineering.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and resolve conflicts.
- Skill in translating customer needs into clear project scope and technical requirements.
- Experience creating work breakdown structures, project schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
- Understanding of electro‑mechanical device development.
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, A3, Fishbone, Six‑Step, PERT charts, Monte‑Carlo simulation, FMEA, DOE, DFM.
- Six Sigma certification (plus).
Annual base salary range: $105,000 to $150,000, plus up to 10% bonus.
