Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking a skilled Senior Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize advanced control systems for dynamic chemical, and process applications.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in industrial (PLC based) control systems development, with applications across industrial processes, chemical and/or oil & gas operations.
This role requires expertise in modeling, algorithm development, and real-time implementation to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance of complex systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement control strategies for thermal, fluid, and chemical process systems including combustion, catalytic reaction, and energy conversion.
- Design, code, and validate control algorithms for real-time process applications.
- Support integration of main process control with equipment controllers (engines, compressors, etc.) and safety systems.
- Model and simulate dynamic systems using MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools to support control design and optimization.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting in laboratory, pilot plant, or field environments.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineers) to ensure robust process and equipment integration.
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and validation procedures in line with industry standards.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in process controls.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, OPC).
- Understanding of control theory, real-time systems, and embedded software development (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++).
- Familiarity with oil & gas or energy systems: compressors, pumps, reactors, or thermal/fluid processes.
- Experience with internal combustion engine control (ECU) is a plus.
- Knowledge of process safety standards and applicable regulations (e.g., IEC 61511/61508, API, or OSHA guidelines).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Contribute to innovative energy and process control solutions spanning clean fuels, chemicals, and oil & gas applications.
- Work at the intersection of control systems and process engineering, enabling safer, cleaner, and more efficient industrial operations.
- Collaborate with a highly skilled team and gain exposure to cutting‑edge control strategies in both laboratory and field environments.
