About STR
STR’s Analytics & C2 Division researches and develops innovative technologies to solve national security challenges through advanced analytics and C2 technologies. The team consists of engineers and scientists with advanced degrees in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and data science.
The RoleSenior Tracking Scientist – onsite, Woburn, MA. Responsibilities include developing disruptive technologies for tracking and fusion programs, conducting data analysis, algorithm development, engineering software, and validation/verification in new application domains. You will explore datasets, develop algorithms, solve high‑impact problems, and collaborate with customers.
Qualifications- BS with ≥5 years experience, MS with ≥3 years experience, or PhD (or equivalent) in applied math, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or data science
- Experience with tracking technologies, estimation theory/statistics
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Design experiments, performance modeling, simulation runs, and test verification
- Excellent written and verbal communication of technical concepts
- Collaborative team player
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance; active clearance preferred
- Experience in intelligence or military‑related mission areas
- Familiarity with Git, Linux, Anaconda, Docker
- Expertise in Python/MATLAB for scientific programming and data analysis (Num Py, Sci Py, Pandas, Matplotlib)
Full‑time salary range: $139,000 – $165,000. Offers are based on experience, education, skills, clearances, and market conditions.
