PositionApex is seeking a talented Project Manager with Stormwater Infrastructure and Water Resources experience to join our Northeast Division Stormwater Infrastructure Group. The candidate selected for this position must reside near one of the following Apex offices:
Quincy, MA;
Woburn, MA;
Providence, RI; and Glastonbury, CT. They will have the option of working in the office full-time, on a hybrid schedule, or from home, and must be available to travel to local client and project sites. We are open to candidates willing to relocate.
- Provide technical leadership and project management for municipal and private stormwater and water resources projects, including design, scheduling, budgeting, and client management.
- Supervise and direct teams of technical staff on complex projects and multiple smaller projects.
- Assist in training and technical development of staff, including conducting training seminars and bringing new technical developments in-house.
- Assist with strategic planning, training, proposals, and business development.
- Consult with other technical staff and Project Managers on technical challenges in the stormwater and water resources discipline, while providing independent technical reviews of projects.
- Oversee the technical accuracy of project plans, specifications, reports, and calculations to ensure compliance with firm standards.
- Recognize potential risks of nonstandard technical matters or legal disputes by participating in required risk and insurance training to minimize liability.
- Present project updates and technical information to clients and at public meetings to review project details.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of related experience in stormwater and water resources, including design and project management.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts, or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, subconsultants, and contractors through leadership and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory frameworks and experience interacting with regulators in the local and technical areas where Apex does work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong desire to manage and mentor junior staff.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Annual Expected Pay Range: $130,000 — $155,000 USD
