Our client is seeking a Portfolio Manager responsible for the design, execution, and ongoing oversight of client investment portfolios. This role ensures portfolios are implemented accurately, tax‑efficiently, and in alignment with the firm’s investment philosophy and client planning goals.
The Portfolio Manager partners closely with advisors and the planning team to translate financial plans into thoughtful portfolio strategies, while maintaining operational excellence through precise trading, documentation, and monitoring. This role also contributes to the continued evolution and communication of the firm’s investment philosophy.

- Execute trades to invest new client cash and raise cash for distributions
- Maintain detailed and accurate trade documentation, trackers, and notes
- Ensure trades are completed timely, accurately, and in alignment with client strategy
- Monitor cash levels and portfolio allocations across client households
- Leverage technology to improve trading efficiency and workflow accuracy
- Build and implement new client portfolios
- Execute portfolio strategy adjustments when needed
- Monitor existing investments and portfolio performance
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Use reporting and analysis tools to enhance portfolio insights and scalability
- Create investment proposals for new clients, existing client updates, and takeover opportunities
- Analyze prospective client portfolios for structural issues, tax inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with advisors to ensure proposals align with planning recommendations and client goals
- Conduct ongoing market research and investment analysis
- Participate in client meetings when investment expertise is needed
- Develop client‑facing communication related to market updates and portfolio changes
- Help strengthen and evolve the firm’s investment philosophy
- Translate investment strategy into language and frameworks advisors can confidently communicate to clients
- 5+ years of investment or portfolio management experience
- 2–3+ years of trading experience
- CFP or CFA designation (or active pursuit) preferred
- Series 7 required;
Series 7 & 63 preferred - Experience developing or managing investment strategy within a financial planning environment
- Strong exposure to capital markets and investment research
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Our client is building for long-term growth. As investment strategies and assets under management expand, this role is expected to grow in scope, influence, and compensation. High performers may have the opportunity to step into senior investment leadership, take on expanded portfolio responsibility, lead a team, or increase client‑facing involvement based on firm needs and individual strengths.
- Total Compensation: $135,000–$185,000+
- Bonus: $10,000–$40,000 (varies by AUM, performance, and firm type)
