We are looking for an Outsourced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team within our Outsourced Accounting Systems and Services (OASyS) group. This hybrid position involves working closely with a talented team to support a variety of consumer products organizations, with a focus on the restaurant and franchise sectors. How You'll Contribute- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, ensuring work is allocated effectively and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, reviewing and approving vendor payments while ensuring proper documentation.
- Work with client HR/payroll providers to review and approve payroll processing and filings.
- Manage the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries and ensuring timely reconciliations, while maintaining an accurate general ledger.
- Validate proposed journal entries and ensure all supporting details are in place.
- Examine balance sheet reconciliations and address variances across key accounts such as cash, AR, and fixed assets.
- Support clients with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analysis, turning results into actionable insights.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client leadership, communicating proactively about status, risks, and strategic recommendations.
- Organize interactions with external auditors and coordinate annual financial statement audits, managing requests and deliverables efficiently.
- Assess and enhance internal controls while streamlining processes across accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- CPA designation or MBA is highly preferred.
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in leadership and review roles.
- Proven client service experience, particularly in outsourced accounting or consulting, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in conveying financial results to clients who may not have a finance background.
- Expertise with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Net Suite, Intacct, QBO, SAP, Oracle, R365) is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including skills in pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.
- Experience with industrial and consumer products clients, especially in the restaurant and franchise areas, is a plus.
- Solid understanding of month-end close processes, GAAP financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
- A track record of leading teams, collaborating across departments, and establishing trusted relationships with clients.
- A commitment to community involvement and a desire to give back.
The compensation for this role ranges from $125,000 to $145,000. Withum also provides a competitive benefits package and bonus program based on performance. Final compensation will depend on several factors, including location and the individual's skills and experience.
