What You Will Do
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Lead and coordinate the Red Hat installation and configuration.
- Provisions, installs, configures, operates and maintains systems hardware and software related to a Linux/Windows infrastructure for classified programs.
- Manages servers (software and hardware); storage (logical and physical); cross‑platform authentication and access; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.
- Uses troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including integration of hardware and operating systems.
- Installs and configures software applications requested by end users.
- Works with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provides documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
- Maintains systems operational 24x7 and occasionally works beyond standard hours; travel up to 5% is required.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience. Must be able to obtain a transferable U.S. government issued secret clearance prior to the start date. Must have Linux or Windows experience. Experience in one of the following areas is required:
Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, or networking administration.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- DoDD 8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Operating System certification.
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
- In‑depth working experience in Windows Server.
- Experience with data storage, NAS, SAN technologies and solutions.
- Experience with IT project lifecycle management processes.
- Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX or other virtual computing methods.
- Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SMECP, or Exchange.
- High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
- Scripting experience.
Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
