What You Will Do

This High-Performance Computing (HPC) Senior Principal candidate will provide Raytheon Digital Technology HPC Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. The candidate will be the primary HPC SME for the Northeast locations and will work independently to provide direct HPC expertise for various program areas.

  • Provide HPC administration and support.
  • Understand Windows Server internals, hardware troubleshooting, and Linux administration.
  • Operate in a hybrid role and travel as required to other domestic U.S. locations.
  • Lead HPC initiatives and standardize processes across DT functions.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance.
  • Document and train on advanced HPC processes and procedures.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • University degree or equivalent experience with at least 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux Server environments, including directory services management and system hardening.
  • Experience maintaining a medium‑sized Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with HPC scheduling and monitoring tools and hardware troubleshooting.
  • HPC experience in a Linux environment.
  • Project leadership or management experience in a DT domain and scripting experience.
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Advanced Windows and Linux security hardening, systems integration, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication service integration.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Engineer.
  • Knowledge of file system architecture.
  • Cloud certifications and experience with HPC Cloud management.
  • Experience with Ansible and automation.
  • IPMI, iLO, and/or iDRAC administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of HPC scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Ganglia, Prometheus, and Grafana.
