Job Summary
Position:
Linux Systems Administrator in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment at RTX, located in Woburn, MA. Requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance. Full‑time onsite (100%).
- Provide Linux system administration in a heterogeneous Windows and Red Hat environment.
- Troubleshoot technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including integration of hardware and operating systems.
- Install and configure software applications for end users.
- Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
- Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- Systems are operational 24x7 and may require work beyond standard hours.
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a heterogeneous environment.
- Must obtain DoDD
8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within six months of start date.
- Current active U.S. government Secret clearance.
- Experience with data RAID, backup, NAS, SAN technologies.
- Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, DoD/RMF.
- Experience with data storage, NAS, SAN and IT project lifecycle management.
- Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX or other virtualization.
- Support for engineers in software, simulations, hardware development.
- High‑Performance Computing (HPC) experience in Linux.
- Ansible/scripting experience.
Salary range: $68,900–$131,100 USD. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off and holidays. Additional incentive programs may apply.
