The AN/TPY-2 radar is a critical element of the nation’s missile defense architecture. This position is onsite in Woburn, MA, with occasional travel to support system installations, testing, and field operations.

What You Will Do

  • Lead installation, integration, and configuration of new radar builds, software updates, and patches, ensuring smooth and reliable deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system issues in Linux-based environments while collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and procedures to validate new software builds against system requirements and operational performance goals.
  • Analyze system performance data and recommend enhancements to the software baseline.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight during integration and testing activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering groups—including systems, software, hardware, and cybersecurity—to drive development and deployment of robust radar system capabilities.
  • Support on-site activities such as deployments, installations, and field troubleshooting to maintain high operational availability.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in integration and testing processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Prepare and present clear technical documentation, including test reports, analysis results, and recommendations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 25%, domestic and international, to support mission execution at various facilities and test sites.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in systems software integration, testing, and/or troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Advanced Linux skills, including command-line tools, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and system administration.
  • Strong software development and debugging skills (e.g., C++, Python).
  • Experience leading integration/testing of real-time or mission-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of radar systems, particularly AN/TPY-2, or missile defense applications.
  • Field-deployed support experience, including customer interaction.
  • Agile methodologies experience (e.g., Jira).
  • Exposure to system integration labs (SIL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity practices in Linux environments.
