A growing consumer products manufacturer is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of ingredients across multiple manufacturing locations. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supply continuity while driving cost savings and operational excellence. This position will be based in the Burlington, MA area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies for raw materials and commodities.
- Lead supplier negotiations, and contract implementation using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles.
- Monitor commodity markets, pricing trends, and supply risks to support purchasing decisions.
- Analyze procurement KPIs including cost savings, PPV/IPV, supplier performance, contract compliance, and supply continuity.
- Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to improve cost, quality, and resilience.
- Manage supplier performance, resolve supply issues, and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to support new product development and ingredient optimization.
- Oversee spot buys, supply disruptions, and emergency sourcing activities.
- Mentor and support procurement team members.
- Manage 1 direct report.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, preferably within food, ingredients, agricultural commodities, or consumer packaged goods.
- Strong knowledge of commodity markets, supplier management, sourcing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Experience with RFx processes, supplier performance management, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
