Job Description
Director of Contracts – Electromagnetic Defensive Solutions (EDS) s senior leadership role directs the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of assigned government, commercial, and international contracts and subcontracts, including significant or major contracts. Responsibilities span all phases of the contract administration process from inception through completion, ensuring protection of the company’s contractual posture, compliance with company policy, laws, and regulations, and identification of risk factors.
The role reports to the Sr. Director of Finance and operates on a hybrid schedule from Lansdale, PA;
Lancaster, PA;
Woburn, MA; or Arlington, VA.
- Direct administration of assigned contracts including negotiating, preparing, reviewing, approving, and terminating contractual documents.
- Lead proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and customer contact activities to ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
- Identify high‑level legal or contractual issues, develop solutions, and provide guidance to resolve complex issues.
- Protect the company’s proprietary interests and ensure adherence to the company’s review chain for reports, papers, and articles.
- Review agreements and evaluate documentation to identify problematic provisions and confirm minimum requirements are met.
- Assist in reviewing agreements for consistency with laws, regulations, economic conditions, and company policies.
- Advise management on contractual rights, issues, and obligations; interpret terms and conditions.
- Coordinate review of solicitations and draft proposals to satisfy customer objectives while protecting company interests.
- Act as primary contact for contract activities and issues, representing the company with senior‑level customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
- Consult with management on development of new business or expansion of existing business opportunities.
- Maintain current knowledge of commercial, government, and international laws, regulations, and practices affecting contracts.
- Direct planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure availability of required management and professional talent.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Law, or related field.
- At least 13 years of progressively complex experience in contracts and contract processes.
- At least 10 years of people‑management experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Demonstrated detailed and extensive technical expertise in government, commercial, and international contract administration principles, concepts, and practices.
- Ability to resolve unusually complex management and technical problems and serve as spokesperson on assigned projects or programs.
- Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of management, professional staff, customers, and government representatives.

Base salary range: $169,000 – $211,500, with incentive plan eligibility.
