Position Summary
The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing advanced level inspections on incoming materials, in‑process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications. This position is focused on following company procedures, recording inspection data, and identifying potential non‑conformances. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work closely with production teams to ensure product quality.
Responsibilities- Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
- Perform inspection duties on machined and manufactured products with close tolerances, using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
- Perform first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections for quality and appearance in accordance with customer and company specifications.
- Use specified equipment such as comparators, toolmaker microscopes, and contour readers where standard procedures apply.
- Check drawings, prints, and specifications for dimensional requirements.
- Examine products to obtain specified dimensions and determine acceptance or rejection of items.
- Notify shop supervisor and own supervisor of failures to meet customer specifications.
- Prepare inspection papers, accept/reject tags, and fill out shipping papers with each order.
- Follow guides for sample or full inspection of product.
- Notify supervisor of problems.
- Maintain necessary records.
- Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Follow established company rules, regulations, and maintain quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of quality inspector experience.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Requires the use of mathematics and complicated drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
