About New England Caseworks

New England Caseworks specializes in manufacturing commercial casework and millwork solutions, built by experienced craftsmen to meet the needs of the Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial and Laboratory markets.

Role

The Manufacturing Support - Millwork plays a key role in supporting daily production operations at New England Caseworks. This position is responsible for the movement of raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility, supporting cabinet assembly, managing inbound and outbound shipments, pulling and scanning orders, feeding production equipment, and assisting with the efficient flow of work on the shop floor.

The General Laborer works closely with machine operators, assembly teams, and the shipping department to keep production on schedule and product moving out the door accurately and on time. This is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Production Manager. Hours are 7am to 3:30pm M-F.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack materials, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with safety regulations
  • Prepare, organize and maintain material, product and tools necessary for assembly
  • Responsible for learning process, machine set-up and problem solving techniques
  • Maintain consistent fast paced work flow to meet project deadlines
  • Assist machine operators with receiving, sorting, and organizing material
  • Responsible for assisting with cabinet assembly
  • Keep shop floor and mill area clean and organized
  • Wrap and package cabinets for shipment and storage to ensure safe transport and protection
  • Receive and ship orders, including verifying quantities, scanning order barcodes, and documenting shipment details accurately
  • Operate forklift to move, load, and position materials and finished products throughout the facility
  • Pull orders from inventory and stage materials for production based on work orders and project schedules
  • Load and feed the saw with materials as directed, ensuring proper alignment and safe handling during cutting operations
  • Create packing slips and shipping documentation to accompany outgoing orders
  • Assist with part catching during cutting and machining operations and retrieve finished product from production lines
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Carpentry/Manufacturing preferred)
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform entry level carpentry techniques
  • Understand and perform basic math calculation, measurements, and geometry
  • Team Player, ability to perform other roles and job-related duties
  • Detail oriented
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Ability to lift up to 75+ pounds with proper lifting techniques
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification; prior forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation
  • Basic computer and scanning skills; experience with barcode scanners or warehouse management systems a plus
  • Ability to safely operate machinery and power equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of safe material handling practices and willingness to follow all shop safety protocols

The worker will be subject to noise from automated machinery. This position requires someone to cut, lift, and transport wood and other materials from floor to waist height on a regular basis. This is a standing position and frequent movement around shop floor is required. No travel is required for this position. All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
