Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Supervisor to oversee daily clinical operations and support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is responsible for supervising nursing personnel, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and coordinating care across departments to promote positive patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to maintaining excellence in patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing operations across assigned units or shifts
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical standards and protocols
- Monitor staffing levels, patient assignments, and workflow to optimize efficiency
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of nursing team members
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff, supporting professional development
- Address and resolve patient care issues, staff concerns, and operational challenges in real time
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies
- Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance reviews
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of clinical activities and incidents
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of clinical practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience in [specific specialty if applicable – e.g., acute care, long‑term care, behavioral health]
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Proven ability to mentor and develop clinical staff
- Strong decision‑making and conflict resolution abilities
- Fast‑paced clinical setting with direct patient care oversight
- May require evening, weekend, or holiday coverage depending on shift assignment
- On‑call responsibilities may be required
