Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Compensation ranges from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, determined by location, experience, education, and skills.
Join our Science Department as a Scientist 2 in the Metals division. In this role you will perform hands‑on analysis in a laboratory setting, ensuring the quality and integrity of environmental data that protects communities and ecosystems.
What You’ll Do- Work with instruments such as AA, ICP, ICP‑MS, and related equipment.
- Analyze environmental samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods to detect contaminants.
- Review and interpret analytical results.
- Document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high‑quality laboratory records.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM field with a minimum of 24 credit hours in chemistry plus 2 years of metals analysis experience.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related STEM field with 1 year of metals analysis experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves).
