We are currently seeking a Bench
Scientist for a prominent client of ours in Cambridge, MA
.
- Pay: $43/hr
- Duration: 2-year assignment
- Location: Cambridge, MA
Summary:
- Support therapeutic antibody discovery programs through established molecular biology workflows.
- Execute laboratory protocols supporting B cell-based discovery campaigns, immune library generation, and sequence characterization.
- Perform core molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid isolation, PCR amplification, cloning, and sample purification.
- Support Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) sample preparation and automated laboratory workflows.
- Perform RNA/DNA isolation from cell samples, reverse transcription (RT), PCR amplification, and standard molecular cloning.
- Assist with immune library and amplicon generation and cleanup using magnetic beads, restriction digests, and gel purification.
- Prepare and perform quality control of NGS samples, including nucleic acid quantification and sizing.
- Assist with routine protocols using automated liquid handling platforms.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
- Support reagent inventory and daily laboratory/bench readiness.
- Prioritize laboratory activities across active discovery programs and communicate experimental progress and observations to project teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and agarose gel electrophoresis.
- Familiarity with nucleic acid purification and quantification methods, including magnetic bead or column-based cleanup, Nano Drop, or Qubit.
- Working knowledge of molecular cloning techniques, such as primer design, restriction digests, or Gibson assembly.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and laboratory documentation skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory automation or automated liquid handling platforms such as Hamilton, Biomek, or Opentrons is preferred.
- Experience with NGS library preparation and QC, including Tape Station or Bioanalyzer, is a plus.
- Experience with Python, AI tools, B cell workflows, immunology, or antibody discovery is preferred
