What you’ll be doingYou’re an expert with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building mechanicals. When there’s a maintenance problem with our building, you’ve got it covered. Your know-how and commitment to excellence will ensure Verizon’s building systems operate at maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Starting, operating, repairing, and maintaining various heating and air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, electrical, and other building-related systems equipment.
- Performing major repairs and replacements of mechanical plant equipment.
- Install, repair, and calibrate pneumatic and/or electric controls for operation of equipment and control of temperature and humidity.
- Perform inspections and make repairs on equipment/systems per company practices and regulations/ordinances.
- Review and interpret work order requests, operating instructions, diagrams, building plans, and mechanical equipment drawings.
- Climb ladders, work aloft, and move/lift items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.
- Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as determined by business needs.
- Work tour hours are 6am to 3pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary). Overtime as needed by the business.
You know HVAC and other building systems well and are eager to apply your knowledge to the Verizon Team. You like to stay busy, well-organized, and take pride in a job well done.
You’ll need to have:
- Two (2) year Associate degree or equivalent certification from a technical or vocational school in ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work, and heating plant operations and maintenance.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in ventilating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work, and heating plant operations and maintenance is desired.
- Universal Technician Certification as designated by EPA regulations-40 CFR Part 82 Subpart H.
- Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
The compensation for this position will be as high as $51/hour. The salary will vary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.

The weekly wage range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $776.50 - $2,125.50.
