Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Fire Alarm Technician role based in Woburn, MA. The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for training, installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm and emergency communication systems. Daily tasks include troubleshooting and resolving system faults, performing routine testing and inspections, and providing excellent customer service while working closely with clients to ensure regulatory compliance and system functionality.

The technician will also collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient and accurate completion of projects.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Low Voltage Engineering and familiarity with related installation and maintenance practices
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues with alarm systems
  • Knowledge of Life Safety Systems, Fire Alarm systems and applicable codes and standards
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients
  • Relevant certifications in fire alarm systems or life safety technology
  • Overnight travel occasionally required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical education or certifications are a plus
Registered Licenses (Highly Desirable)
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts Electrician License (Master A or Journeyman

    B)
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registered Systems (Contractor C or Technician

    D)
  • State of Rhode Island License for Fire Alarm Systems (Contractor AF or Technician BF)
Skills and Knowledge
  • Capable of explaining complicated systems in simple terms
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits and systems with troubleshooting experience
  • Capable of reading and following electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Understanding of computer technology and a basic knowledge of networks
  • Working knowledge and experience using test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, communication monitors, and spectrum analyzers
  • Capable of documenting and communicating technical issues with engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
  • Must have experience using the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Must have critical thinking skills to analyze information and draw informed conclusions
