Principal Software Engineer​/Release Train Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as a servant‑based leader and coach for the ART (Agile Release Train).
• Identify and escale blockers; facilitate removal of barriers for the ART.
• Ensure Agile teams follow established processes and methodologies.
• Schedule and drive coordination of algebraic teams’ Scrum of Scrums.
• Ensure product owners establish scope and acceptance criteria for team products.
• Schedule and facilitate increment planning and review events in a scaled Agile environment.
• Align team sprint plans and execution with program and customer priorities to support the Scaled Product Owner.
• Partner closely with the Scaled Product Owner for on‑time delivery of products and services.
• Partner with Cross Product Team leads on staffing, rotations, dependencies, and team health.
• Coach Agile teams and mentor Agile leaders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• 8+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, software engineering, requirements analysis, or related fields.
• Experience in system requirements definition & analysis, system test & analysis, systems engineering, software development, MATLAB/C/C++/Ada/Java/DOORS.
• Experience with requirements and agile development methodologies.
• Experience with current Missile Defense programs and large, complex systems.
• Experience developing software in a team‑based environment, preferably using Scrum or Kanban framework.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain an interim Secret security clearance prior to start date.

• Knowledge and execution of Agile principles and methodologies.
• Team leadership experience in a scaled Agile environment.
• Strong communication and coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Prior experience as Scrum Master or Product Owner; running or attending Agile ceremonies.
• Previous software development experience.
• Experience operating or leading a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Project management experience.

Active, transfer‑able U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required.
