Job Summary
MDS Department Section Leader. Provide technical leadership for a program and guide a section of 15–20 engineers. Foster teamwork, interdependent execution, compliance with policy, vision, values and goals.
Responsibilities- Provide guidance and leadership to a section of 15 to 20 engineers.
- Act as a key leader and mentor, fostering teamwork and interdependent execution.
- Responsible for sustainment, assessment and development of the section.
- Ensure section members adhere to policy, vision, values, and goals.
- Communicate flow‑down to section members.
- Collect and provide performance feedback for section members.
- Support yearly performance goal development.
- Support section salary and labor planning.
- Provide career and job assignment mentoring.
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in software development, integration or test using C, C++, Java, or Ada.
- Experience developing software in a team‑based development environment, preferably using Agile Scrum or Kanban.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience as a technical leader or team lead on defense software development program.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills, both technically and professionally.
- Ability to effectively interact with subordinates, customers, and other internal organizations.
- High energy, self‑starting team player who achieves goals and continuous improvement.
- Radar domain knowledge (EWR, AN/TPY-2, X , CK, D , AMDR, etc.).
- Software cost estimation experience.
- Six Sigma, CORE, EVMS, Software Project Management Certification, and PMX certifications.
USD 107,500 – 204,500 per year (depending on experience).
