The Raytheon team is looking for a Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department starting in May 2027. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and Dev Sec Ops  principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers.

As a member of our team, you will design, develop, test, and release software products for one of our Radar or C2 programs. Some of the programs our department supports include the AN/TPY-2 Radar ( ), the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX/X ), and the Taiwan Surveillance Radar Program (SRP).

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software design and development, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, safety-critical systems. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
• Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
• Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.

The workings of Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems. How to develop and maintain large-scale, complex software solutions in an agile environment. Testing frameworks and best practices to enable high-quality software deliveries utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.
• Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python).
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
