Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Truck Driver Associate, you will:
- Operate company‑owned and leased Class A trucks to deliver and pick up building materials, ensuring timely and safe service.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes and maintain strict compliance with DOT hours‑of‑service regulations.
- Secure loads using winch and ratchet strap systems, chains, binders, load blocking, and side‑curtain wall systems; verify load security at every inspection.
- Assume responsibility for vehicle maintenance and inspection, completing post‑trip inspections, DOT inspection reports, fluid checks, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, documentation of proof of delivery, mileage, fuel usage and maintenance activities, and ELD records in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff and dispatch, and represent Parksite with professionalism at all times.
- Assist with hand loading and unloading of materials, operating forklifts when required, and ensuring products are delivered without damage.
- Follow all safety rules, attend safety meetings, wear appropriate PPE, and report any incidents or hazards immediately.
- Support overall logistics operations by collaborating with warehouse and office teams, adhering to the Operations Manager’s instructions, and performing any other duties as assigned.
- Valid CDL Class A license in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of professional commercial driving experience.
- Good motor vehicle record with no major violations.
- Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Basic math skills and basic English proficiency sufficient for reading and interpreting documents such as bills of lading, route maps and DOT regulations.
- Excellent time‑management, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to workplace safety.
- Regularly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 90 lbs.
- Work in hot, cold, or inclement weather; endure bright lights, loud noise, dust and fumes.
- Sit for extended periods while driving and perform frequent pushing, pulling, climbing, and kneeling.
- Pass DOT‑regulated drug and alcohol screening, background check and employment verification.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Flatbed trucking experience with building materials.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Experience with side‑curtain flatbed trailers, tarping and load protection.
- Knowledge of the Eastern United States delivery territory.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Hazmat endorsement.
