Key Responsibilities
  • Shipping Coordination
    • Prepare and package capital equipment for safe transport, including custom crating and protective measures.
    • Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers (freight, air, ocean) for domestic and international deliveries.
    • Ensure adherence to Incoterms and customer-specific shipping requirements.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Generate and review shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, export declarations).
    • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, international customs requirements, and hazardous material guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of shipments in ERP or logistics systems.
  • Carrier & Vendor Management
    • Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to track shipments and resolve issues.
    • Negotiate shipping rates and optimize cost-effective solutions while meeting delivery timelines.
  • Quality & Safety
    • Inspect equipment prior to shipment for damage or discrepancies.
    • Follow all safety protocols for handling heavy or sensitive equipment.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide shipment status updates to internal teams and customers.
    • Address inquiries related to shipping schedules, documentation, and delivery.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; logistics or supply chain certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (capital equipment experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and export compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.
