Key Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of children aged 0-5 years, ensuring all meals are visually appealing and age-appropriate.
   
Menu Planning:
Develop seasonal menus that adhere to nutritional guidelines, incorporate fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and consider allergies and dietary restrictions. Assistance is available with this.

Food Safety:

Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety in accordance with health regulations, including proper storage, preparation, and cooking practices.

Kitchen Management:
Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring the kitchen area is kept clean and organised.

Collaboration:

Work closely with nursery staff to understand children’s needs and preferences.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, and participate in inspections as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a chef/ Kitchen Assistant  preferably in a childcare or educational setting would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and health regulations.
Passion for cooking and an understanding of nutrition for young children.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
