Lead Practitioner needed for our Child Protection Team in Wolverhampton, paying £33.30ph

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Child Protection Practitioner to join our Children’s Services in Wolverhampton.

This is a challenging and pivotal role requiring tenacious, confident, resilient and professional individuals with a strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds and the ability to apply and challenge decisions appropriately.

The CP Lead Practitioner role is designed for qualified social workers with significant demonstrable experience in child protection, acting as a recognized expert in safeguarding practice.

• Manage a complex and high-risk safeguarding caseload.
• Complete high-quality, analytical assessments and reports for court, child protection conferences, statutory reviews and other relevant forums.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with national and local policy.
• Ensure all statutory responsibilities are met within required timescales.
• Provide specialist expertise in child protection activity and key decision-making.
• Undertake joint visits and co-working as required.
• Chair child protection core groups and other safeguarding meetings where appropriate.
• Lead and contribute expert oversight within multi-agency forums to safeguard children and young people effectively.
