Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/ Plant Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and assembling a variety of equipment and machinery.

Duties

Inspect, maintain and repair various plant machinery, vehicles and equipment
Assist in making necessary repairs, replacements and adjustments to equipment components
Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is efficient working condition.
Perform basic maintenance related tasks including filter replacement, lubrication and minor repairs.
Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
Follow safety protocols and procedures when conducting repairs and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
Report any critical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor
Ensure detailed care, organisation and maintenance of tools and equipment
Carry out Auto Electrics on vehicles and plant including trackers, new fit outs and general vehicle electrics.
Any other duties as required to meet business needs
Carry out pre-MOT inspections on vans and light commercial vehicles

Skills

NVQ Level 2 Qualified Auto Mechanic or equivalent
Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is highly desirable.
Experience working with small plant machinery (mowers, rotavators, strimmers etc)
Full Driving Licence is essential
Experience working in a similar role is desired
Ability to diagnose faults and work independently
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Good communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration.
Enthusiasm and attention to detail to ensure all work is delivered in a manner without compromise on safety and quality.
