Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Technician - TXM Recruit are currently looking for a Mechanical Technician to work for a rapidly expanding retail maintenance team on a 12-week temp to perm scheme.

Location – Wolverhampton and surrounding
Salary – £41,206/yr.
Hours - 6am to 3pm - Monday to Friday (Can be flexed for childcare etc)
Weekends - 1-in-4 weekend shift (1.25x rate for Sunday)
Overtime - Overtime is there at 1.5xAs a Mechanical Technician your duties will include:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on lifts, escalators, travelators and lifting equipment.
Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
Maintain and repair powered doors, roller shutters, fire shutters, gates and dock levellers.
Service and repair compactors, balers, pallet stackers and scissor lifts.
Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures.
Complete inspections, testing and certification to ensure equipment is safe and compliant.
Record maintenance activities and repairs using digital reporting systems.
Work closely with site teams to minimise disruption to daily operations.
Follow health and safety procedures and relevant machinery regulations.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineer or Equiv.
Or Mechanical Apprenticeship
Full UK driving license.

There will be daily duties to ensure the tablet is updated, this may be reporting issues, H&S notes or sending emails. Technology will be used in the form of a PDA Tablet and Company provided Smartphone.
