Director of Capture Management

Location

Wood Dale, IL. Candidates must have reasonable access to a major airport and be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

The Director of Capture Management leads capture efforts, oversees capture managers, conducts market analysis, and devises capture strategies to win contracts supporting the DoD, U.S./foreign governments, and OEMs. This leader works closely with internal stakeholders, defense contractors, prime contractors, and OEMs in developing executable support and sustainment strategies that reduce life‑cycle costs for the customer while generating reasonable profit for AAR.

• Win contracts supporting DoW, U.S./foreign governments, and OEMs and develop strategies to grow these markets.
• Interact and collaborate across AAR’s functional staffs and other business units to generate cost‑effective capture strategies.
• Develop and support the creation and pursuit of a capture pipeline in accordance with AAR’s strategic goals.
• Contribute and recommend business and marketing strategies to achieve maximum penetration consistent with company financial objectives.
• Prepare customer and internal presentations.
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of AAR.
• Ensure all capture activity is conducted in a compliant and ethical manner consistent with government laws and AAR’s high standards.

• 8+ years of related professional experience in the defense industry focusing on product support, integration, engineering services, CLS, and/or supply chain management.
• Knowledge of Shipley Capture and Proposal Management processes.
• Ability to obtain up to Top Secret clearance.
• Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; OR fifteen years of related experience and/or training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Successfully lead end‑to‑end capture efforts for assigned opportunities.
• Drive consistent adherence to standardized capture and proposal SOPs.
• Consistently apply AAR’s structured capture methodology.
• Produce compliant and compelling, on‑time, high‑quality capture artifacts.
• Influence leaders, capture managers, and proposal managers to adopt standardized processes.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $190,000 to $210,000 annually. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a bonus.
